Game News Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim Coming to Mobile Phones in Japan in 2021
After three episodes released on mobile devices, it is the turn of the sixth installment of the Ys saga that will be released in a mobile version destined only for Japan at the moment and scheduled for next year.
While Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is expected here for February 5 on PC, PS4, and Switch, Falcolm has announced the launch in 2021 on mobile of an old episode of its cult Action-RPG saga with Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, the first title of the Ys series in 3D. Already released in September 2003 for PC in Japan, then on PS2 in 2005 and on PSP in 2006, the game was finally released worldwide translated into English in 2015 on Steam. Taito had already developed a mobile version of this sixth work in 2005, that is, in a period before the democratization of smartphones.
This is not the first time that the Ys series has arrived on mobile phones, since in 2015 and 2016, DotEmu was responsible for porting the first and second episodes with Ys Chronicles 1 and Ys Chronicles 2. More recently, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was also entitled to her version on the phone in 2019 but not with us. Given this, it seems unlikely that this sixth work will arrive with us next year..
As a reminder, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim tells the story of Adol and his friend Dogi who set out to explore an unknown archipelago in the Atlas Ocean and find themselves attacked on the way by pirates. After seeing the wreck of his ship, Adol awakens on the Canaan coast and survives thanks to the care of Isha and Olha, two elf-looking women. The hero then realizes that he has landed on an island where humans are not welcome and that he will have to survive.
