You must know these nine tricks: chat, location and company.

Quote chats, share location or change notification tones: WhatsApp offers many features that are not immediately obvious. Here are nine tips you should know.

Millions of people use WhatsApp every day. Messenger offers many features to make it easy for users to communicate. Here are nine tips:

1. Freeze chat

Anyone with a contact or chat history is always on top of your WhatsApp-I want to see the list you can fix it. To do this, press your finger on the contact until it is highlighted. A menu will appear at the top. Select the pin icon here. Chat now always appears on top. On iPhone, swipe left on the name and select “Pin”.

2. Share location

If you want to quickly share your location with a user, click the paperclip icon at the bottom of chat or the “+” icon on iPhone. In the menu that appears, select “Location“. In order to share your location, you must have the gps– Activate the function of your smartphone.

3. Quote message quickly

Users can quote their own chat messages and those of their contacts. To do this, tap on the desired message until it is highlighted. In the menu above, select the arrow pointing to the left. 4. Set notification sound and light for contacts

You can give each contact an individual signal of sound, vibration and light. To do this, when chatting with a contact, click on their name. Your profile will now open. Select “My Notifications” or “My Sounds” (iPhone). Here you can make various settings.

5. Save chat messages as favorites

If you want to save a chat message for later, you can mark it with a star. To do this, tap on the desired message until it is highlighted. Now select the star in the menu above.

To see your saved messages, click the three dots in the upper right corner of the contacts window. Under the point “marked with an asterisk” find saved messages.

6. Change backgrounds

Backgrounds in chats can be changed in the settings. In the Contacts window, click the three dots in the upper right corner, and then click “settings“. For iPhone, select “settings” at the bottom right. Then select “chat“. Here you will find the option “backgroundWhatsApp offers several sources to choose from, such as the gallery.

7. Update contacts

If you have a new user in your address book, you must select them from your contact list to start a chat. Sometimes the contact may not appear there. In that case, it may be useful to update the list. To do this, click the green icon at the bottom right of the chat window. Now a list with all the contacts appears. Now click on the three dots in the upper right corner and then on “To update“. Now the desired contact should appear in the list.

8. Turn off group messages

If the constant group notifications annoy you, you can leave the group or mute the group chat. To do this, click on the chat you want to mute. iPhone users tap the group name at the top of the chat window to open the settings menu. Next, select the three dots in the upper right corner and then “silent notification.”

You can now configure whether messages should remain silent for eight hours, a week, or a year. The same works in chats with individual contacts as well.

9. Find common groups

To check which groups you share with a contact, when chatting with a contact, click their name. Your profile will now open. Scroll down until you see “Common Groups” watch.
