If Nvidia’s RTX 3060 is installed in a laptop, this indicates a budget gaming laptop that currently still offers enough power for lighter gaming experiences. XMG uses the graphics card in its three new base models.
Three Solid Gaming Laptops
The three new FOCUS series gaming laptops have Intel’s Core i7-12700H with 14 cores and 20 threads and the RTX 3060 with 6GB of GDDR6 RAM and a 115W TGP. Compared to previous 2021 models that used a GTX 3050 Ti, that’s a significant jump in performance.
The FOCUS 15, FOCUS 16 and FOCUS 17 are packed with the newest and best internals, so there’s a laptop suitable for fans of all sizes. The 15-inch and 17-inch models use a 144 Hz Full HD resolution IPS display, while the 16-inch variant uses a 16:10 aspect ratio WQXGA IPS display at 165 Hz. Instead of the 350 candela per square meter of the other two models, the 16-inch even achieves 400 candela brightness and achieves 95 percent sRGB color space coverage.
Each laptop is equipped with enough slots for up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and can carry up to two M.2 SSDs, of which the main slot has a fast PCI Express 4.0 connection. The battery manages 54 Wh and is screwed inside the device. With Wi-Fi 6E and LED keyboard backlighting, XMG gives you a few more handy features. XMG has already revealed what the models cost.
The cheapest way to get there is FOCUS 15 far. Here the gaming laptop with Intel Core i7-12700H, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 (2×8) GB DDR4-3200, 500 GB Samsung 980 SSD and 144 Hz Full HD IPS screen costs 1,679 euros or more, while you the FOCUS 17 with the same equipment from 1,729 euros. The new XMG FOCUS 16 the basic configuration is available from 1,749 euros.
