Microsoft has updated the CPU support lists for Windows 11. New models are listed by AMD and Intel; in the case of Intel also without prior notice. In the entry-level class, Microsoft confirms that it has moved away from Intel’s previous Celeron and Pentium brands.
Instead, processors with the simple “Intel Processor” designation first appear within the Alder Lake-N CPU family. The two models N100 and N200 should be the start – they should appear exclusively with efficient cores mainly for cheap laptops and desktop PCs.
Within the Core i-13000 series of processors, officially Raptor Lake-S, although Intel will likely continue to use Alder Lake Dies on the slower CPUs. lists 16 unreleased models. No big surprises though, as Intel is still using all previous CPU classes, from the Core i3-13100 to the Core i9-13900T.
Until now, only overclockable K models with high Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 125 watts have been available. CPUs without a suffix run more sparingly with a standard TDP of 65 watts; the T variants are particularly energy efficient and suitable for mini PCs, for example.
Mid-range with efficiency cores
According to rumors, the Core i5-13600 and Core i5-13500 use six performance and eight efficiency cores just like the previous Core i5-13600K, but with significantly reduced clock rates. Additionally, the Core i5-13400 and its non-GPU sibling the Core i5-13400F will receive efficiency cores for the first time; it is speculated with a 6+4 configuration. The Core i3-13100 should still be a quad core.
