For many users, the default font size in Windows is too small and almost unreadable. Although that can be changed. However, the text in the information area is an exception. With a hack, resizing works anyway.

Scaling expands everything on Windows.
There’s no reason to torment yourself with a font that’s too small in Windows. We will show you how to set the font size in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
To do this, go to “Accessibility, Text Size” in the “Settings” app. Use the slider to adjust the font size and preview your changes. But: The font at the bottom right of the taskbar notification area is excluded from the tweak.
Here’s how: Rescale the entire system
The solution is very simple: rescale the entire system; this includes not only font sizes, but also window sizes and all other elements. Open the “Settings” app with the keyboard shortcut Win + I and go to “System, Display”. Scroll down to “Scale and Layout” and use the dropdown box after “Scaling” to set a higher value, such as “125%” or “150%”.

Change the scale in the “Settings” app.
This changes the size of text, apps, and other items. As an alternative to the default values, you can also define the degree of scaling yourself. To do this, click the arrow to the right of the percentage. In the window that opens, enter a value of up to 500 percent in “User Defined Scale” and click the check mark to the right to confirm. The changes are active after a Windows reboot. Note: Displays with high pixel density, such as Surface models, are already set to a recommended value of 200%. Then try next or next but higher value.
The procedure is similar in Windows 10: here you will find the options in the “Settings” application under “Display, scale and layout”.
