Why do people think the world will end on December 21st?
Wacky Christian Evangelical Rev. Paul Begley predicted that the end would strike December 21, 2020.
He cited the Maya calendar and the arrangement of the two planets of the day (which happened to be his birthday) as evidence of his groundless claim.

Instead, the Maya apparently believed that our world would be wiped out eight years later, on December 21, 2020.

What is the Maya calendar?
The Maya calendar is a system of calendars and yearbooks used in some Central American cultures.
It dates back to the 5th century BC and is still used today in some Maya communities.
The Maya calendar has three separate corresponding calendars. They are Long Count, Tzolk’in (God’s calendar), and Herbs (Citizen’s calendar).
Each calendar is periodic. That is, a certain number of days must occur to start a new cycle.
The calendar is also used at the same time.
Tzolk’in and herbs identify the day and connect every 52 years to create a calendar round.
The long count date comes first, then the Tzolk’in date, and finally the herb date.
The Maya believed that the universe was destroyed and then recreated at the beginning of each universal cycle.
What was Maya’s prediction of the end of the world?

According to Tagarogin’s calculations, the Earth will be destroyed on June 21, 2020.
Not surprisingly, the world didn’t end on June 21st.
However, there are other dissenting opinions about the final day of the Earth.
Rev. Begley believes that the end will come on December 21, 2020.
He said: “Of course, the Maya elders said this could have been the end of today’s world.
