There is a new feature in the current beta version of WhatsApp Messenger. This should make it easier for users to find messages.
WhatsApp released a new beta update for Android users and added a new shortcut with build number 2.22.6.3. The latest information suggests that the new shortcut is designed to search for news.
According to WABetaInfo WhatsApp is working on a new widget that will allow users to manage shortcuts for searching messages. The developers are also working to bring the same redesign of contact information in the WhatsApp beta to iOS, including search shortcuts.

WhatsApp: new search shortcut is tested in the beta version
The new WhatsApp for Android beta update prioritizes adding the search shortcut to the redesigned contact information page. Additionally, some users may also see the same shortcut in the group information.
Unfortunately, the feature doesn’t seem to work that well yet, as it’s still under development. This feature is probably enabled correctly on your WhatsApp account, but it doesn’t seem to show up in some situations. Users will need to be patient until the widget can be used to its full extent.
