WhatsApp is introducing a new disappearing message option this month. This feature allows WhatsApp users to hide messages in chat conversations between friends and automatically delete messages after 7 days. Anyone can enable this option in individual chats, and group admins can enable hiding messages in group chats.
“We’re starting on the 7th because we believe the conversation isn’t permanent, it’s practical, but it gives us the peace of mind that we’ll never forget the content of the chat,” says a WhatsApp spokeswoman. “A shopping list or store address you received a few days ago will be displayed when you need it and disappear when you no longer need it.”
Message disappearing It also erases photos and videos after 7 days. The message will not be visible to both parties, but you can take a screenshot or copy the message and then delete it automatically.
You need to enable hiding messages for each group or each contact. When the feature is fully expanded, it will be available as a new option in the contacts section of each friend of WhatsApp. This setting does not clear old messages and only affects new messages if enabled by either party. WhatsApp says this month it will begin rolling out messages that disappear to all users.
