Update for Google Chrome closes six security holes

Date:

Google closes numerous security holes in its Chrome Internet browser. An update to the new version is strongly recommended. This is how you do it.

On its official blog, Google presented a new security update for its Chrome browser. With the update to version 106.0.5249.119, the manufacturer fixes six security holes in its Internet browser. The company classified all six as high risk.

Chrome update: this is how it is done

In most cases, Chrome updates automatically when users close and reopen the browser. Updates can also be done manually.

If you are not already using the current version 106.0.5249.119 of the Internet browser, you must urgently start an update and install the new version.

Here we explain step by step where you can see the current version number and how to start a manual update of the browser:

  1. Open Chrome on the computer.
  2. Open the menu at the top right using the three vertical dots.
  3. Click Help, then click About Google Chrome.
  4. Click “Update Google Chrome”. If you don’t see this button, the latest version is already installed.
  5. Now restart the browser. You can do this by using the “Restart” button or simply by closing and reopening the browser.

On the official website Google once again explains exactly how Chrome updates work and how they can be installed on smartphones and other mobile devices without delay.
