Bottom line: Ubisoft and Steam parted ways two years ago when the former decided to sell their digital PC games exclusively on Uplay and the Epic Games Store. However, new evidence shows that we will soon see Ubisoft games available again on the popular digital game store.
According to the evidence find Per SteamDB creator Pavel Djundik, it appears that Valve updated the Steam client and added the Ubisoft Connect PC client to the default package. If Steam is installed and up to date, you should already have the client included with your installation.
Valve and Ubisoft have not officially commented, but if Djundik’s claims are valid, at least one of them is expected to announce it soon. It’s still unclear why Ubisoft will return, but there’s a good chance it’s tied to the Steam Deck launch, scheduled for February 2022.

Shortly after the handheld console was announced, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that if Valve’s handheld console grew large enough, Ubisoft would once again sell games through Steam. The truth is, the console has yet to launch, but the sheer amount of pre-orders Valve has received so far could be enough to justify Ubisoft’s return.
Ubisoft offers content on Steam including Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Trials Rising, Far Cry New Dawn and The Crew 2, and more. The last game added was Space Junkies on March 26, 2019. Since then, Ubisoft has released many more titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, and others.
Additionally, the publisher is also working on some Tom Clancy games, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, Beyond Good and Evil 2, and more. These games are just a few that could make it to Valve’s store if the French publisher decides to return to Steam. If you want to fully immerse yourself in these games, you may need to buy the best gaming laptop under 400 dollars. Nowadays, this category of devices has been nicely upgraded, so you can find a solid system without splurging on a more expensive machine.
Another possible reason to implement the Ubisoft Connect client on Steam is to update the games that are already available, but it is much less exciting.
