Following the game’s recent delay until December 10, speculation about the state of Cyberpunk 2077 on the console is rampant. Even CD Projekt Red itself states that the polishing of consoles of the current generation is the main reason for the delay mentioned above.
Also, to answer some questions about how titles run in the console, the developers have released about 10 minutes of gameplay footage from the Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. Basically, this looks like Cyberpunk 2077 is running. On PS4 and PS5 — or around.
To be honest, it looks pretty good. Some visual aspects are certainly toned down compared to the games I’ve seen before (when obviously running on a high-end PC), but at first glance they’re still pretty pretty. It seems to be holding up especially well on the Xbox Series X. When the car was driving through the city of Knight City, I barely noticed the pop-in. Hopefully it’s the same on the PS5.
Please note that a full PS5 upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 will begin at some point in 2021. Until then, PS5 players will have to play the PS4 version through backward compatibility, but you should see an improvement in frame rate. And load time.
