Dungarees, mustache and hat did it Super Mario, one of the most representative characters in the world of videogames, a true icon recognized by young and old: since its inception in the 1980s, it has appeared, both as a guest star and as a protagonist, hundreds of video games and not only. It has been dedicated to cinema, cartoons, comics, as well as an infinite amount of merchandising of all kinds and from March 18, Super Mario will open the doors of the first Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan. To celebrate its extraordinary mascot, Nintendo has decided to dedicate an entire day to him, the MAR10 Day, held annually on March 10: but why was this date chosen? Just put together the first letters of the month, Tuesday, and the day, 10, and voila: you get it. MAR10, a word that is very reminiscent of Mario’s name!
In the year of its 35th anniversary, which will end at the end of March 2021, there have been many activities dedicated to the little big mustachioed hero. Among the most recent:
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons + 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros: Items inspired by the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. have arrived in Animal Crossing: New Horizons *. Familiar items like the super mushroom and the block? they can be ordered in the set in the form of furniture, to be placed wherever you want. There is no shortage of the famous tubes, which allow you to move quickly between various points on the island. The new items are available after the last update.
- Nintendo Switch Mario Special Edition (Red and Blue), with a color combination that pays homage to the famous Mario costume. This special edition of the console is now available at select retailers. In the box, players will find two red Joy-Con controllers with blue ties, a blue Joy-Con grip, a red Nintendo Switch base, and a Nintendo Switch console that is available for the first time in a new red color scheme. Also included are a blue and red Nintendo Switch case (Mario Special Edition) and a protective film, to carry and keep the console safe at all times.
- The first SUPER NINTENDO WORLD It will debut at Universal Studios Japan on March 18, 2021, creating an engaging themed area where worlds, characters, and legendary adventures from the world of Super Mario and Nintendo come to life. Dominating the area, Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle, but Super Nintendo World will also feature Mario Kart and Yoshi themed rides and attractions, as well as restaurants, shops, and other immersive experiences.
