The American software giant Microsoft has overhauled its Windows for Business system. So now there is a cloud solution. In addition, the security architecture is said to have been improved. A new feature also reduces worker distraction.
The American software giant Microsoft wants to adapt its Windows operating system for corporate customers more closely to the requirements of the changing world of work and the greatest security threats. At an online event, CEO Satya Nadella presented a completely revamped Windows family for use in businesses and organizations. The solutions featured also include a Windows PC running entirely in the group’s cloud, similar to Google’s Chrome OS online operating system.
Needlela said that Windows 365 can be used by organizations of all sizes to become more agile and resilient. The offer is aimed at the smallest and largest companies to keep employees connected. Banks could use the system to meet strict regulatory requirements. The system is also suitable for government agencies working in some of the most remote areas of the world.
A number of changes relate to security, for example to prevent phishing attacks. In Windows 11 for Business, the group introduces a protection feature (“Defender SmartScreen”) that warns users not to enter their login details on fake websites and malware.
According to Microsoft, the Windows 11 system for corporate customers is designed to be inclusive and barrier-free from the ground up. The “Focus Sessions” feature should help minimize distraction when working. System-wide live captions are designed to make spoken content easier to understand. It was not made clear which of the new features will also be available in languages other than English from the start.
The head of the group, Nadella, emphasized that Microsoft wants not only to remove restrictions on the devices used, but also to remove obstacles to optimal work. “What we show you today is an operating system that adapts to you. To the person, to the task, to the device you are using, and not the other way around. This is very important in the new world of work.”
