The CROATIA police have issued a warning about a new scam that is spreading through the WhatsApp application.

– The so-called “fishing action” is underway, aimed at users of various online advertisements. Perpetrators most frequently use the WhatsApp mobile application to communicate with victims, through which they forward links to fake sites of companies that deliver goods.
In this way, they collect personal data and data on bank cards and CVV card number, and then carry out unauthorized transactions at various online points of sale abroad.
These attacks are becoming more frequent and we have repeatedly warned citizens about them through the media; again we are warning citizens of the danger of giving personal and financial data to unknown persons.
We advise citizens not to provide the requested information! The sender’s goal is to use their credit cards for unlimited, unauthorized online payments.
We urge you to be especially careful, and if you think it is damaged, we recommend that you send a report to the police station in whose area you live, police said.
