With the MAG Trident S 5M, MSI offers a desktop PC that doesn’t want to conquer gamers’ desks, but rather their living rooms. The design of the new Trident is more reminiscent of a console than a traditional PC. With the two software applications already installed, MSI App Player and MSI Game Stadium, MAG Trident S 5M owners can play both Android games and games from the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library. All through the cloud, without installations or long downloads.
MSI App Player Features: App Player emulates an Android system within a Windows 11 environment. This makes it easy to play mobile games on a big screen in your living room.
Features of MSI Game Stadium: Through Game Stadium, users can access the already integrated Xbox and Steam app. This allows the Game Stadium app to access Xbox Game Pass Ultimate content (subscription required) and users’ own Steam library.
Numerous additional features for players.
Despite the focus on cloud gaming, the MSI MAG Trident S 5M is packed with powerful hardware. Inside is an AMD RyzenTM 5700G APU with 8 cores and 16 threads in a simple 2.6 liter case. The APU supports FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, capable of increasing frames per second by 2.4 times. Two PCIe Gen 3 SSD slots and a 2.5” HDD slot are also installed on the motherboard and can be quickly and easily upgraded using the quick release slots.
Additionally, MSI has equipped the Trident S 5M with a number of additional features that are primarily of interest to gamers:
- Lan Manager software manages network performance for mobile gaming, cloud gaming, and traditional PC gaming
- Three video outputs (HDMI 2.0, DP 1.4 and VGA output)
- USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C 15W on the front for fast charging of external devices
- Physical G-key that can be linked to commonly used software
The MSI MAG Trident S 5M has been available from regular MSI retailers since February 25, 2022.
