Meet bowler, An unusually beautiful PC from a small French company Bleu Jour (Blue day).
Announcement of this year IFA 2020 In Berlin, KUBB seems to have been born from the brains of renowned French designer Philippe Stark. It is a perfect cube, 12 cm on each side, with sharp edges and corners.
This little PC comes in two versions, one running the embedded Ryzen R1606G and the other running the V1605B. Both share the same specifications: 8GB LPDDR4 (upgradable to 32GB), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and Realtek GbE.
Despite its size, it also has 5 USB ports and 2 HDMI 2.0a connectors. However, the base unit does not include storage, so you need to connect a 2.5-inch SATA drive or M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
The company offers a three-year warranty and a choice of amazing operating systems (Windows 10 Pro or Linux Mint).
The 4-core V1605B retails for 679 euros (about $800/AUD600), has Linux Mint, and has no replaceable handmade shells. The wooden model is priced at €131 and Windows 10 Pro adds an extra €170.
Blue Jules has chosen aluminum and Inox as the base materials for KUBB. Standing out of the same sea that haunts the PC market is its shell-available in graphite, mirrors, quartz, passion red, fusquia, chocolate and champagne. Encore! Encore!
