A Rocket League mobile port appears to be in the works at Epic Games. According to information revealed in an official document of the company, it could arrive this year on our smartphones.

Epic Games’ plans for the Rocket League game were revealed in an internal filing that was made public following the legal case between Apple and Epic Games. Epic is reportedly planning to create a new launcher for PC and console games that will deliver the full experience on all platforms, including mobile. with a beta version planned for mobile devices in the second quarter of 2021.

According to the document, the players you can retrieve the progress of your PC and console directly in the mobile version. Additionally, Epic confirms its intention to make Rocket League the quintessential crossover game. Indeed, it would be possible to play with all your friends, even if they use other platforms. This version of the game should not be confused with Rocket League Sideswipe, which is coming to iOS and Android later this year.

Rocket League also comes in a 2D version for mobiles

As the document indicates, two versions of Rocket League would be planned for smartphones, including the original version, as well asa version “Sideswipe” that will take place in 2D scenarios. It will be possible to play using the touch controls or a controller.

In the trailer below we can see four players compete in teams of two in an arena. The goals this time are not on the ground, but on high. For now, Rocket League is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam or the Epic Games store. As with all these platforms, the title is expected to be available for free on mobile devices when it launches.
