An image is making the rounds on the internet, which is said to be a Geforce RTX 4080 as Founders Edition.

An alleged first image of the Geforce RTX 4080 as the Founders Edition is making the rounds on the internet; or as it would have been said before: reference design. The card, which is wrapped in antistatic film, closely resembles the well-known Ampere design and is reminiscent of the Geforce RTX 3090. With any luck, two expansion slots in the case are enough for the graphics card.

As with anything on the web, the image can be faked, which drew alert enthusiasts to the font design, which is different from years past. Nvidia could use a new design language here though, after introducing Nvidia Sans Nala on the website, and the fonts are pretty similar on a first rough comparison.

The Geforce RTX 4080 is said to use the AD103-300 and have 76 SMs, which would result in 9728 FP32 shaders. The rumor mill had recently corrected the technical data several times. Ultimately, the card is expected to offer roughly the performance of the Geforce RTX 3090. Also, according to the latest state, it has 16 GiByte GDDR6X with 23 Gbit/s on a 256-bit wide memory interface, giving as a result a transfer performance of 736 GB/s. The Geforce RTX 4080 is said to have a total board power of 340 watts and an approximate performance of around 15,000 points in the 3D Mark Timespy Extreme Performance.

The Geforce RTX 4090, which is said to have 128 SM (16,384 shaders) and 24 GiByte of memory, will tower over it from a distance. These include the Geforce RTX 4070, which is probably more affordable for many, but for which there has been a lot of movement in information recently. 56 to 60 SM (7168 to 7680 shaders) with 10 to 12 GiByte of memory is the latest state.
