SPECIAL: Yamaha’s appearance at IFA 2022 with sound bars, headphones and gaming equipment

Yamaha fans will have to rethink something in 2022: there will be no big AV receivers, pre/amp combos, or new hi-fi components on display at IFA in Berlin from September 2-6. Instead, the focus is on headphones, reasonably priced soundbars, and gear for gaming and streaming: different times, which some people will regret, as we can well understand. Unlike other audio providers, the Japanese are at least still represented at the International Consumer Electronics Fair in the Berlin exhibition center.

At the core of Yamaha are the YH-L700A and YH-E700A on-ear headphones, as well as the two headphone models TW-E7B and TW-ES5A. With the ZG01 audio mixer and the YH-G01 headphones, Yamaha is also showing important accessories for optimal voice quality and high-quality broadcasts. The YAS-209 soundbar (from 2020) sits above it at IFA and will be shown there as well. With the SR-C30A, the Yamaha booth is also presenting a new exclusive product for gamers and home theater fans. Yamaha products can be found at the joint trade show with Expert at booth 101 in hall 7.2a.

The compact SR-C30A with a slim wireless subwoofer celebrates its premiere at IFA 2022. Yamaha promises a spatially intensive sound experience and surprisingly good 3D audio effects.

Thanks to Adaptive Low Volume technology, the built-in speaker chassis develops a vivid and believable sound even at low volumes, which Yamaha says also benefits gamers who simply place the speaker on the desk. Bluetooth, HDMI ARC, an optical digital input and an analog input represent the connection options. With several typical Yamaha sound modes and the Clear Voice function for optimal understanding of dialogue, the sound can be adjusted according to the source.

In addition to the novelty, the YAS-209 will also be on display, which has been available since 2020 and which we tested with very good results. The YAS-209 offers a total power of 200 watts (2 soundbars of 50 watts, 1 subwoofer of 100 watts). Alexa voice control is integrated and, thanks to DTS Virtual: X, it offers 3D surround sound of remarkable quality. A wireless subwoofer is included in the scope of delivery, something that will be appreciated by friends of a powerful and neat movie sound reproduction. The subwoofer is based on a 16 cm chassis, in the slim soundbar there are 2 x 2.5 cm tweeters and 4 x 4.6 cm midrange drivers. There are also features like WiFi and Spotify Connect, Amazon Music and Tidal, as well as HDMI slots on the connection side.

The YH-G01 headphones and the ZG01 audio mixer are IFA’s next products, which should represent an immersive studio-quality gaming experience. With the YH-G01 (169 EUR), Yamaha recently introduced a headset that is characterized by excellent sound, impeccable speech intelligibility and enormous wearing comfort.

With the ZG01, there is a specially designed audio mixer for an immersive gaming atmosphere. With this device, players have the ability to control the game’s soundtrack, the voice of the player and a chat partner, and stream mixes to viewers and chat partners.
