Samsung is working diligently to finalize Android 13 and One UI 5.0 for its Galaxy smartphones. However, a new WLAN feature has already been discovered that is a bit hidden, but could still be extremely useful for you.
Samsung has hidden a handy Wi-Fi feature
The home WLAN is the connection to the outside world. If your own WLAN causes problems, then the problem is big. Until now, you have had to access external applications to fix problems. But that doesn’t have to be the case, because from Android 13 and One UI 5.0 onwards There is a WLAN scan tool in every Samsung cell phone (Font: androidpolice). You can then read aloud where your home WLAN has weak spots and, if necessary, you can improve with a repeater.
To access the new feature on Samsung phones, you must have at least Android 13 and One UI 5.0 installed. exists currently only on the Samsung Galaxy S22 via beta testing. You can get to the function through a small detour:
- Open configuration
- open connections
- Wi-Fi open
- Go to the three dots at the top right
- Press 10 times on “Smart Wi-Fi”.
This allows you to activate the developer options for the WLAN and you can there access a lot of information about your wireless network. For example, you get a graphical display of where the connection is good while on the go with your Samsung cell phone. In this way, you can identify weak spots in the WLAN and improve them by moving the router or using repeaters. It is extremely practical to have such a function integrated directly into the mobile phone.
