Federation Council member Aleksey Pushkov called on Turkey to take responsibility for UAVs sold to Ukraine. He wrote about this in his Telegram-channel.
The Russian senator cited the explanation of the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu, that after the sale, the Bayraktar drones become Ukrainian property, so there can be no claims to Ankara for their actions.
Pushkov stressed that before the deal is made, the drones are owned by Turkey, and it is Turkey who decides who to sell these weapons to.
“After all, it is absolutely clear why and against whom Ukraine buys Turkish drones. The absolute clarity of the situation, obvious to Ankara, cannot fail to impose on Turkey a part of responsibility for the consequences of its use ”, concluded the senator.
Previously, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov after a trip to Donbass setthat Kiev will purchase a batch of Bayraktar shock drones from Ankara for the needs of the country’s armed forces.
At the end of October, Ukraine for the first time use Turkish UAV Bayraktar TV2 in hostilities in Donbass. This provoked strong criticism from Russia.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Bayraktar drones used by Ukraine in Donbass cannot be called Turkish after the sale agreement.
