The defendant Ranade and some of his associates had opened an office at Tarabai Park in Kolhapur. He had advertised in a local newspaper that he would give a 180 percent return if he invested in virtual currency. Some trusted him but with no return in three years, Ranade and other defendants were charged last month with defrauding Rs 58 lakh.
Another case of Rs 20 lakh fraud has been recorded
Another case was recorded today. Suhas Nagnavar has been misled in this way by showing the lure of return on investment. A case was registered at Rajaram Police Station against Nagnavar and Ranade for cheating Rs 20 lakh between July 2017 and October 2017.

There are signs that the scope of this case is growing. Police are still searching for Ranade’s accomplice in Goa, Ajay Dodmani and Sukanta Bhautik. Previously, a case was registered against Padmanabh alias Paddy Vaidya (Pune), Amit Bir, the owner of Naveen Pathak company, Amit Bhardwaj, Ajay Bhardwaj (all New Delhi residents).
