update: Wow! The Last of Us, remastered on PS4, now has a video proof showing how Naughty Dog has improved load times. As shown below, it takes only 14 seconds to load a new game, compared to the previous 1 minute 30 seconds. That is an absolutely insane difference. After installing the new patch, it takes about 14 seconds to load the save data. Previously it took more than 2 minutes.
The original load time may seem wild, but Naughty Dog always hides in-game loads and relies on the first long load screen when launching the game. Apparently, studio magicians no longer need it. The PS5 is probably worth adding to reduce these load times to a few seconds or so. Stupid!
