Around IFA 2022, Signify introduced the new Hue lamps. There are also Philips Hue gaming accessories.

The special thing about smart lamps is that they can be controlled via Bluetooth or WLAN. For example, you can use an Amazon Echo and the Alexa app to create routines that turn on the light at a certain time or with a voice command. Probably the most famous representative of connected lamps is the Philips Hue brand from Signify. According to the IFA in Berlin, the company new light bulbs and accessories for games presented.

Ambilight for PC gamers

As a leak has already revealed, there are glass bulbs with Philips Hue. With a height of eight centimeters and a width of five centimeters, these are large glass bodies that also function as screens. The glass bulbs are called Lightguide and complement the portfolio of filament lamps, which will be expanded to include a Philips Hue White Ambiance candle from mid-September. All Lightguide models have an E27 base and can display different colours. There are globe, triangular, and elliptical shapes. Prices start at €85, with the elliptical shape alone costing €100. Starting in September 2022, the Hue app will have new features that can be used to create a routine. This way you can determine which Hue lights should be on in which room and how long they should be on. For example, you can save energy when you are not at home.

Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip is specially designed for gamers. This is a type of Ambilight for monitors. The LED light strip can be attached to the back of the screen. Each individual strip can display multiple colors in parallel. Like Philips Ambilight, the light strips also sync with the content on the screen. To do this, you need a Hue bridge and free PC software. Starting in mid-September, various games will be released for the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip. For 200 euros, there is a set that includes a Hue bridge to connect the LED strips to monitors between 24 and 27 inches. With three Lightstrips, this set costs 300 euros. If you have a 32- to 34-inch monitor, you can buy a matching Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip for $220.
