Not even the pandemic stops the Motobefana

The Motobefana will be back this year. In fact, the pandemic has not stopped solidarity and the Moto Patitori association together with the Latin Local Police will also succeed in their attempt in 2021 by bringing gifts to the young guests of the Serena di Maenza family home. It is the nineteenth consecutive year that this tradition has been carried out, which begins from the Piazza della Libertà, where agents and motorcyclists meet to reach the chosen place on two wheels, which changes every year. On this occasion there will not be thousands of motorcyclists ready to leave for the Pontine Municipality, but about 15 and they will be able to travel thanks to a circular from the Ministry of the Interior that allows voluntary work by social promotion organizations. The will to do good, however, is the same as in all previous editions. The event is characterized by the fact that games or objects chosen at random are not donated, but exactly those requested by the children in their Christmas letters. The Local Police take care of the gifts and this year will deliver a perfume for Giovanna, 12, a watch for Sara, 7, a soccer ball for Mirko and Roshan, 7 and 10, and a doll for Chanel, 3. The association Moto Patitori, for its part, has raised about 5,000 euros that it will allocate directly to the family home for the purchase of useful materials for the day to day. “We have mosquito nets”, says the president of the association Fabio Porzi, furniture, a television and a microwave, a closet, food and everything that is needed in our homes and that they also need. Thanks to the Mayor of Maenza Claudio Sperduti who acted as coordinator and accompanied us several times on the site, once again this year our wish can come true. On January 6 there will be a real befana, as every year, and there will be, as usual, the delivery of gifts requested by the small guests of the structure.
