New cell phone theft on a motorcycle, in Salento

The events of insecurity are unbearable in the department of Quindío. The week that ends was very agitated by cases of theft in Armenia, Salento, Calarcá, Montenegro, La Tebaida and Quimbaya, in most cases the crime has been committed by people who move on motorcycles and generate panic for the victims.

In Armenia, the largest number of cases that were registered of robberies are concentrated in the north of the city, sectors of La Castellana, El Nogal, Laureles in one of them to make a reference was the case of the former secretary of Social Development Juan Carlos Patiño, whose cell phone was taken from him in the middle of the street.

Andrés Rivera Ospina, President of the departmental youth platform, was the victim of criminals who opened his car on 19 avenue, Torre Verde sector, and took valuable items, the entire criminal process was recorded in security cameras in the area .

In the Puente la Florida sector, in the center of Armenia, a woman was attacked by criminals on foot who took her by the neck and seized her purse in which she was carrying money, her cell phone and other valuable items, apparently it was about young people of Venezuelan nationality, says the affected person.

The most recent case was registered in the San Juan de Carolina sector of the rural area of ​​Salento, in the north of Quindío, where a woman is walking home and is approached by a couple of criminals who are waiting for her on a motorcycle. Security cameras in the sector recorded the moment when the motorbike driver intimidated her with a firearm and snatched her cell phone, also squeezed her at the time of fleeing. The victim reacts and knocks the couple off the motorcycle, but finally they get up and flee towards the Centenario avenue sector in Armenia.

The community demands greater action from the authorities and speed in the investigations to confront the scourge of theft that occurs daily in the city.
