The newest collection to strut out of Netflix’s well-stocked vault is a darkish fantasy primarily based on a graphic novel by 300 and Sin City comic e-book legend Frank Miller.
Cursed follows Nimue, aka the Woman of the Lake (performed by 13 Explanations Why’s Katherine Langford), as she’s swept up into a war amongst magic and the church. Somewhere on the way, she picks up the “cursed” Excalibur.
The second trailer, expanding on the to start with teaser, displays Nimue becoming tasked with bringing the sword to Merlin, but she also appears to have a moment when she promises the sword for herself.
We get a couple glimpses of Nimue making use of her magic, as perfectly as some of the destruction caused by the Crimson Paladins. Arthur’s in there too, performed by Devon Terrell.
The sequence, reimagining Arthurian legends, will fall on Netflix on July 17. So much the trailers have manufactured promising visuals, and dim magic paired with Witcher-esque medieval grittiness, so let us hope Cursed delivers.
