Database entries point to native PS5 apps from two major streaming services. It is only a matter of time before the two apps are released.
So far, PS5 owners can only use the Disney+ and Spotify streaming services through PS4 apps that are backward compatible. However, native PS5 apps should be offered for the foreseeable future. This is revealed by current database entries.
The first entrance discovered Reddit-User “the_andshrew 2”. He came across a beta version of Disney+ that appears to be codenamed “Vader”.
PS4 app has sound issues
Among other things, the Disney service’s PS4 app doesn’t support 4K resolution. Also, many users reported that the sound was worse than with other streaming apps. There are regular audio cuts and crackling noises.
Because it is a beta version, it may take a while before it is released. However, it is already certain that a native PS5 application will arrive. By the way, the streaming app has been available on the Xbox Series for a long time.
