SK Gaming’s youth team finished first in the group stage of the play-ins at the League of Legends European Masters tournament.
The knockout stage is now about moving on to the main stage of the tournament. SK entered the second round of the group stage from a comfortable position, having gone undefeated the day before. The German representative continued this series in his first match of the day against eSuba from the Czech Republic. Against team Phantasma from Greece, who were last in the group, SK suffered their first loss of the tournament.
But that changed nothing in SK’s position: the team had already advanced to the round of 16 before the end of the second day of group stage matches. There, SK battles it out in a best-of-three series to enter the main stage.
Meanwhile, Vitality.Bee of the French regional league LFL were the only team to make it through the group stage undefeated. The youth team around four former LEC players and Germany’s Dimitri “Diplex” Ponomarev went undefeated on matchday two, reinforcing his role as favorite.
