Instagram will start to focus mainly on videos in order to cope with other platforms such as Tik Tok Y Youtube.
This was confirmed by the director of the platform, Adam Mosseri, through a video uploaded on his social networks.
As he explained, they will begin to test video recommendations in the feed of some users, even from accounts that they do not follow.
“We will also experiment with embracing video more broadly: full screen video, immersive, entertaining, for mobile devices ”, he indicated.
The changes are coming to the video on Instagram 📺
At Instagram we are always trying to create new features that help you get the most out of your experience. Right now we are focused on four key areas: Creators, Video, Purchasing, and Messaging. pic.twitter.com/ezFp4hfDpf

“You will see us do a number of things or experiment with various things in this space over the next several months,” he added.
In that sense, Mosseri stressed that Instagram will no longer be an application “To share photos or an application to share square photos.”
It should be noted that for some time the platform has been paying more attention to videos. In 2020, for example, it launched its short video service Coils, which allows users to record videos and then edit them and add audio and effects.
Previously, in 2018, it debuted IGTV, which allows you to upload longer videos.
Links in the stories… for everyone?
For its part, in recent days Instagram has started testing a new function in some users so that they can insert links in their stories (or stories).
As confirmed by the social network in conversation with the specialized site The Verge, for this they have chosen stickers to the detriment of the classic swipe-up. In this way, you will only have to click on the design to go to a certain link instead of having to slide.
This slight change in the format will allow people to respond to the stories that contain these stickers, which cannot be done with the stories in which you must swipe.
