Index – National – One of the Facebook pages of the Institute of Linguistics was stolen

Date:

2021.05.08. 08:20

Foreign hackers broke into the Institute of Linguistics one Facebook page. If someone searches on Facebook at helyesirás.hu, a page called Case Closed Fan Club will appear, the URL of which has been withheld by Internet thieves for the time being. The new theme is based on a Spanish court show called Caso Cerrado.

A different video to the first topic was posted on April 23, and since then only the profile and cover image and introductory text of the page have been changed. The news also appeared as a post, during which several people indicated that the page was probably stolen and reported the fake page.

This is not a unique case, it has been a common phenomenon for years that phishers steal Facebook profiles. It can take days to get them back, but for thematic pages it can be even more difficult as they are used by admins and publishers through profiles, and if a profile is hacked and the rights to the page are transferred to someone else, the recovery is very complicated. In this case, it is worth contacting your Facebook staff.
