Last Wednesday we learned that Canadian actor Simu Liu was now the spokesperson for the latest Google smartphones, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. We spoke with him to discuss his habits with a mobile device, but also about Star Wars and his career.

Liu, who just played the lead role in Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings in MCU theaters, it will now collaborate with Google to create content for Canadian audiences. It will appear in a series of digital ads to promote the features of the Pixel 6, as well as add its own personal touch.
“Google knew that I was not going to be a ‘let me take a picture of the phone’ partner and that’s it,” says Liu. “I think Google wanted something authentic with that touch of humor that I like to wear every day,” he adds.
And this humorous side of the actor will be everywhere in Google ads. “We shot some commercials and I can’t wait to show them. First, they are an extension of my goofy humor, and second, because they show features of Pixel 6 that I am a huge fan of, ”said the 32-year-old actor.
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are the first entirely Google devices, inside and out, thanks to the Google Tensor, its first system on a chip (SoC). But for Liu, a smartphone is not just a camera. He is, among other things, a heavy user of the WeChat mobile app, allowing him to stay in touch with his parents. When it comes to mobile games, it is Pokemon go that he especially likes. “I was a great Pokemon go one time. I’m a bit busy now, but would love to walk around and make inroads with people.
