How to download and install the beta version of iOS 15

While the final version of iOS 15 is almost here, there is still a way to install the latest beta version on your iPhone.

Apple has teased the great things to come in iOS 15, including the new FaceTime feature, a redesigned notification system, and offline support for Siri, and it’s available to test in beta right now before the full launch on Monday the 20th. September 2021.

Can I download and install iOS 15 on my iPhone?

As long as your iPhone supports iOS 14, you should be able to download iOS 15 when it launches on Monday. Just to confirm, here are all the devices that can get iOS 15, including the recently announced iPhone 13 line:

The risks of installing beta software

Before explaining how to download iOS beta versions on your iPhone, we must first explain the situation with beta software. For those of you who don’t know, the beta versions are unfinished, which means that you will likely run into bugs, glitches, and even glitches that will prevent you from accessing various areas of your smartphone.

In other words, don’t expect the iOS 15 beta to be as stable as Apple’s current software. This may be true not only for the software on the iPhone itself, but also for the applications you have installed; some may work fine on iOS 14, but crash on opening on iOS 15.

If you decide to take the plunge, we cannot stress the importance of backing up your iPhone using an archived backup before upgrading. Without an archived backup, you will not be able to restore from a backup if you decide to revert to iOS 14 because Apple does not support restoring data from newer software updates. Essentially, if you back up your iPhone on iOS 15, you won’t be able to restore from that backup if you want to go back to iOS 14.

To archive a backup, open iTunes (or the Finder in macOS Big Sur), click Preferences> Devices. You will then see a list of all your backups – right-click on the most recent backup and select Archive to prevent it from being overwritten.

With the latest major iOS updates, Apple has given enthusiastic fans the opportunity to test the beta version of the software before its full release, just like iOS 15. If you understand the risks involved, but still want to try the public beta For iOS 15, follow these steps:

If you are a registered iOS developer, here is how to install iOS 15 Developer Beta:

Sur votre iPhone, dirigez-vous vers developer.apple.com dans Safari et connectez-vous avec les détails de votre identifiant Apple.
Dirigez-vous vers la section Téléchargements, répertoriée dans le menu à gauche.
Faites défiler jusqu'à la version bêta d'iOS 15 et appuyez sur le bouton Installer le profil. 
Vous verrez apparaître une fenêtre contextuelle vous demandant si vous souhaitez télécharger un profil sur votre iPhone. Cliquez sur Accepter.
Accédez à l'application Paramètres et appuyez sur Profil téléchargé en haut de la liste. Si cela n'apparaît pas, accédez à Général > Profil et appuyez sur le profil bêta d'iOS 14. 
Appuyez sur Installer en haut à droite pour installer le profil bêta d'iOS 15.
Acceptez le formulaire de consentement du développeur.
Redémarrez votre iPhone pour terminer l'installation du profil bêta.
Une fois redémarré, revenez à l'application Paramètres et accédez à Général > Mise à jour logicielle.
Vous devriez voir apparaître la version bêta d'iOS 15 - appuyez sur Télécharger et installer, puis attendez que votre iPhone télécharge la mise à jour.
Une fois téléchargé, vous verrez apparaître une fenêtre contextuelle demandant d'installer la mise à jour. Appuyez sur Installer pour installer la mise à jour bêta d'iOS 15.
