On November 12, 2017, after two years of construction, the Heidenheim Municipal Library was officially opened. Exactly five years later, on Saturday November 12, this birthday will be celebrated with a lot of program.
The building, which not only stands out from an architectural point of view, has become a pulsating center of the city center, which is also due to the interesting mix of “residents”. Because the building not only houses the municipal library, but also the district media library, the municipal archive and Café Samocca. All together they celebrate the fifth birthday with various attractions.
to win prizes
The band Hackberry from Ellwangen (a mix of American folky blues and country) will play in various places in the house, and there will be attractive prizes in a raffle at the town library (in addition to books and tickets for children and adults, there will also be be original illustrations by Ingo Siegner (“The Dragon Coconut”) and Alexander Steffensmeier (“Lieselotte” books) to win). There are also attractive prices for MarioKart family games, which the city library presents in conjunction with the media center. It is not children or young people who play for the prizes, but also the older ones. However, children/youth get the prizes. In addition, at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., the municipal archive offers a guided tour of the rooms, which otherwise can only be done by appointment. The meeting point for visitors is the information desk on the ground floor.
