Alongside the new Pixel 6 smartphones, Google has announced a new type of subscription, offering, for a significant monthly payment, one of the new smartphones along with various company services.
Under the title Pixel Pass, Google will sell, by monthly subscription, one of the two Pixel 6 smartphones (optional) plus 200 GB of Google One storage and access to Google Play Pass, YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium.

The smartphones in the package will benefit from an extended warranty and will come with the possibility of changing in two years with a new model.
Pixel Pass will cost $ 45 per month if the user opts for the Pixel 6 and $ 55 per month if the Pixel 6 Pro model is chosen.

By borrowing a book from Apple’s portfolio, through Pixel Pass, Google tries to retain its users and keep them “prisoners” in the company’s ecosystem. A user who uses more products and services of a company is less likely to enter the field of competition.
For now, Pixel Pass is only available in the United States.
