This is the final stretch of the regular season across Michigan, as the Jackson-High School football team is preparing for an important match that could determine the championship and playoff seeds for the tournament.

STOCKBRIDGE QB is this week’s voting player
The Stockbridge Panthers defeated Perry 38-13 in last week’s Greater Lansing Athletic Conference Action, winning the decisive league of improving to 2-2 throughout the season. A major reason for its success was the Panther attack led by quarterback Drew Philip.
Philip passed 11/15 with 154 yards and two touchdowns, adding an 89-yard rush with 15 carries to facilitate the Stockbridge attack. Junior quarterbacks impressed the local football community in the process as MLive and Jackson Citizen Patriot readers gathered to vote and helped win the Player of the Week award.
Philip won 18,493 votes in this week’s poll, and Luke McDawman of Columbia Central won 15,264 votes, second place in this week’s wire contest. Michigan Center tailback Caydin Highland finished third with 7,082 votes, Homer quarterback Cole Austin finished fourth with 5,001 votes, and Hannover Houghton tailback Tyler Hector topped with 2,137 votes.
