In our demanding online battery runtime test, the OnePlus 10T 5G lasted a solid 12 hours and 3 minutes. We set the screen to 200 candelas per square meter, which is suitable for indoor use, and let a script continuously surf the web and play videos.
From a physical point of view, such a charging time is no fun for individual lithium cells. Therefore, the battery could have a slightly shorter lifespan compared to the competition. However, OnePlus still assumes 80 percent battery capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which corresponds to about four years. This is made possible by a “smart” algorithm that monitors the current maximum chargeability of individual cells. In the event of an impending overload, the system regulates the charging power downwards. Also, a kind of “self-healing” should reduce the damage to the anode and cathode.
If you don’t want to rely on these marketing promises, you can also create an individual charging plan in the corresponding settings menu, or simply turn off the fast charging function completely. Wireless charging is not possible with OnePlus 10T 5G.
