This is one of the reasons why I was so impressed with the Honor Watch GS Pro announced at IFA 2020. This smartwatch promises up to 25 hours of charging and 48 hours of GPS on.
I got the Honor Watch GS Pro before it was released. Its design and rugged look are very impressive.
Honor Watch GS Pro Price and Release Date
The Watch GS will be available in the UK for €249.99 (about £233 or $295 equivalent) starting September 7th. Unfortunately, this is not brought to the United States, as the honor is part of Huawei and Huawei is still in conflict with the US government on the accusations of insecure devices and infrastructure products.
Honor Watch GS Pro Battery Life
The GS Pro is Honor’s first smartwatch, designed for more extreme applications, as well as for average workouts. That has been noticed in many aspects of the design, including the number of battery life that spins its head.
All its battery life is provided by a 700 mAh cell. The 25-day number is for general usage, as it can drop as much as 48 hours with GPS turned on. Whether you’re a fitness fan or not getting off the treadmill, you’ll get 100 hours of workout tracking from the battery. And no matter how many you take, it’s still better than the life you get in less than 24 hours Apple Watch 5.
Honor Watch GS Pro design and durability
To give the watch a design that can withstand the most intensive activities, Honor chose a polycarbonate body with a stainless steel bezel and a circular 1.39-inch (454 x 454) AMOLED display. Honor Watch GS Pro Health Tracking and Sports Features
Rumor has it that the watch has regular fitness tracking features, one of the big additions to the Apple Watch like sleep tracking, heart rate tracking, and SpO2 monitoring.
Honor is really pushing the power of extreme sports with Watch GS Pro, a new workout mode for skiing, hiking and swimming. The watch also lets you see sunrise/sunset times, tide details, moon phases, and general weather alerts to plan your day at the hill/dune/slope.
If you get lost during your adventure but don’t want to turn on GPS and drain your battery, you can use the routeback feature on your watch. This allows you to track your movements during your activity, and when enabled, you can track back to where you started your virtual trail and get direction and distance information without the smartwatch risking you dying. (However, the battery life is not that long).
