Several manufacturers have already announced new smartphone flagships with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Among them is next to the Xiaomi 13 (Pro), the I live X90 Protowards Oppo Find X6 Pro and the one plus 11 you can also find Nubia with their RedMagic gaming division. There are now concrete indications that the RedMagic 8 Pro will be the first gaming smartphone with Qualcomm’s new flagship chipset.
In any case, the release of the RedMagic 8 Pro, which is expected alongside the RedMagic 8, seems imminent. The new smartphone model was seen in various certifications. First, the RedMagic 8 Pro was found on the Bluetooth SIG website, where it is listed by name and under the model number NX729J. A listing can also be found with the Chinese certification body TENAA under the same number.
Unfortunately, the two entries barely mention any specifications. Only Bluetooth 5.2 and 5G are mentioned, which is not a surprise. There are no further details about the equipment so far, apart from the fact that the manufacturer has already confirmedthat the RedMagic 8 Pro as a successor to the RedMagic 7S Pro (approx. 1,200 euros per Amazon) will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
In the coming days and weeks, the RedMagic 8 Pro will no doubt show up for more certifications, which should also reveal more specifications. However, the first sightings are a strong indication of the imminent release of the new gaming flagship. We may see the introduction of RedMagic 8 Pro, including RedMagic 8, this year, but no later than early 2023.
Technology has fascinated me for about 25 years, especially when it makes life easier instead of more complicated. Mobile devices like laptops, smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches are particularly close to my heart, as is the booming topic of the smart home. I have been working in these areas for many years as a test and news editor. I have worked or am working for various websites such as homee, Nuki and siio smart home blogs as well as various technology portals such as Giga and Techradar. I have been writing laptop news and reviews for Notebookcheck since spring 2020.
