EA Sports will soon release FIFA 21 Title Update # 7 on Steam and Origin PCs, with updates added to the console in the future. There are all patch notes, including nerfs to crosses and volleys and improvements to referee logic.
The last update for FIFA 21 Weaken stepover skills and AI blocks To make the game more balanced. However, the developers were thinking of something different with FIFA 21 Title Update # 7.
They weakened Cross and Volley and aimed to make the improvements that were coveted by the referee’s logic. There are many other pieces, but I needed to address these issues the most.
EAnerfs drives crosses and volleys in FIFA 21 Update # 7
FIFA 21 players felt that both driven cross and volley were a little overwhelming. Lofting the perfect driven cross to find the target was very easy, and finding the backside of the net with a super-accurate volley was even easier.
Fortunately, the developers finally noticed and responded to FIFA 21 Title Update # 7. From now on, the ball will slowly move through the driven cross, both in the air and on the ground. It is more noticeable for players with crossing attributes less than 75.
Similarly, if the ball is moving faster and the receiver attempts to volley the ball, it will be less accurate than before. It’s a subtle change, but it’s very similar to real football.
In FIFA 21, it was a hassle for players to easily combine driven passes with volleys at lightning speed. So this is a welcome change and is quite exciting to the fans. But that’s not all.
FIFA 21 Update # 7 Improves Referee Logic
The referee’s logic has always been a matter of FIFA titles. Great when it works, but suspicious decisions can be frustrating, especially at important moments. In FIFA 21, players have noticed that the referees are inconsistent in giving yellow cards.
The player received the yellow card with a timely tackle, but often only saw the last man escape from behind with a malicious slide tackle.
Thankfully, the developer will make some tweaks to the latest patch and hopefully improve it. It will be interesting to see how noticeable the improvements will be when the patch is released.
FIFA 21 Update # 7 includes many other changes and bug fixes. Some of them are specific to Career Mode, FIFA Ultimate Team, and Volta Football. Here is a complete list of patch notes: EA Sports At the FIFA forum.
FIFA 21 Title Update # 7 Full Patch Note
Gameplay
We have made the following changes:
- Reduced the speed at which the ball moves when performing a driven cross or a driven ground cross.
- This effect is most noticeable when performing a driven or driven ground cross on a player with a cross attribute of 75 or less.
- The higher the intersection attribute, the less noticeable this effect.
- The accuracy of the volley when the ball reaches the shot taker at high speed has been reduced.
- Adjusted the referee’s logic to better assess when to give a yellow card.
- The intercept logic has been further improved when the defending player is directly on the ball’s pass.
- This change applies only in situations where the ball carrier is passing the ball.
- The transition speed to fake shots for players during a sprint has been reduced after a successful skill move was requested.
Addressed the following issues:
- Improved animation selection logic when trying to save as a player-controlled goalkeeper.
- From time to time, fouls around the edge of the box resulted in seemingly incorrect placement of the balls in the next set piece.
- The in-game referee made the right decision in these situations, but the resolution of the foul animation could make it appear that the foul had occurred at slightly different pitches.
- Improved referee logic in situations where a professional foul is violated by the last player in the defense and affects potential attack opportunities.
- In some cases, the referee did not make the correct foul call after a physical contest or standing tackle.
- The heel chop skill move could not be performed during the sprint.
- Reduced some instances where the ball carrier stumbles after minimal physical contact within the box.
- This can sometimes lead to unnecessary penalty kick calls.
- In some situations, a player trying to intercept a pass could accidentally move his foot away from the ball.
- In rare cases, players teleport during non-gameplay foul scenes, following advantage.
FIFA Ultimate Team
Addressed the following issues:
- When loading a squad battle match, the opponent’s squad screen could disappear immediately.
- After reaching the previously set personal pack limit for FIFA Playtime, you could not open the Squad Building Challenge Rewards Pack unless you changed or ignored the 1 hour limit.
- Stability issues can occur when the captain invites a friend to the Co-Op lobby.
VOLTA FOOTBALL
Addressed the following issues:
- When switching tabs in Gear Up, the UI didn’t always reflect the currently selected purpose.
- Addressed some instances where players couldn’t matchmake.
Carrier mode

- Updated the interactive match sim UI when penalty kicks and penalty kick shootouts occur.
- Playing with an Argentine team can cause stability issues.
