The Environment Minister said – during a telephone conversation with the satellite channel (Sada Al-Balad) for the program (On My Responsibility) with the journalist Ahmed Moussa this afternoon (Wednesday) – that responsibility has been placed on developed countries on climate change and working to reduce the earth’s temperature, highlighting that Egypt played an important and prominent role in this regard for the African continent, explaining that the continent did not place specific demands on the issue of climate change.
The Minister thanked Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly for meeting with the Special Envoy for Climate Change of the President of the United States, John Kerry, and discussed climate change, noting that the United States envoy sent a message that “Today there is a will to comply with this file, especially because Egypt is an important country on the continent in the climate change file.”
The Environment Minister revealed that the “Climate Change” conference will be held in November 2022 and that it will be important for the African continent, highlighting that Egypt continues to transmit Africa’s message to the world to face climate change.
The minister said that work is being done to rehabilitate the lakes to face climate changes, and crops capable of withstanding high temperatures will be planted, and announced that a grant of $ 34 million has been obtained to protect the green environment.
