The Telegram founder called iPhone users forced digital slaves, and also commented in an NYT article that claimed Apple engaged with Chinese authorities to develop business in the country.

Apple sells “outdated hardware at inflated prices to customers trapped in its ecosystem,” said Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
“Every time I have to use my iPhone to test our iOS application, I feel like I’m throwing myself into the Middle Ages.” wrote is on his Telegram channel.
According to Durov, 60Hz iPhone screens can’t compete with modern 120Hz Android screens that support smoother animations.
However, “the worst part of Apple’s technology is not bulkier devices or obsolete equipment,” the businessman continued. In his opinion, having an iPhone turns people into Apple’s digital slaves, due to the applications that can be used only by those that Apple “allows you to install through its App Store”, and for data backup, only iCloud.
