Today, Saturday, the UAE Ministry of Home Affairs ordered a month-long suspension of drone flights for drone owners, practitioners and enthusiasts, according to the Emirates News Agency.
The ban includes “users of unmanned aircraft (drones) and light sports aircraft of all shapes and types, including the practice of air and water sports today, in coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics in accordance with the instructions given. “
The agency specified that the ban occurred “due to the erroneous practices that have been monitored in recent times of not complying with the practice of this sport in the geographical areas that were identified with the permits granted to users, where the areas that are not allowed.” to practice this sport they were used”.
The ministry called on community members to comply with these instructions “in order to preserve the safety of lives, property and the atmosphere resulting from the improper and unsafe use of this pastime,” adding: “Therefore, it will be suspended. the practice of this pastime for a month, starting today, Saturday, January 22, 2022”.
These instructions come days after the UAE was subjected to an attack targeting a fuel depot belonging to the Abu Dhabi national oil company outside the center of the Emirati capital, as well as an area of Abu Dhabi International Airport. which is still under construction.
The Yemeni Houthi movement “Ansar Allah” claimed responsibility for the attack, which killed 3 people and set fire to the fuel depot and the airport.
