A search for personnel has appeared on the official website of CD Projekt Red that gives us hope for the multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077. It is a search for a Gameplay designer with specific features and experiences. But moving by scrolling, it is clear that the plan is broader.
From what we knew so far, the Polish development team had first decided that they would develop the multiplayer of their new big sci-fi product as a separate game, but then another decision was made.
This new decision had been commented on and explained by the CEO of the team as part of a more general will of bring multiplayer elements online in all games. Apparently something is finally moving if CD Projekt Red looks for people with experience in the multiplayer field.
Cyberpunk 2077, multiplayer will save us
Scrolling through open positions within CD Projekt Red, we found that the team is looking for different figures. For example, it is interesting to observe how the team created a specific section for positions related to multiplayer mode. There are currently two vacant positions: the Game programmer and the Lead Systems Designer. If we go through the requirements of the game programmer, for example, in addition to specific technical skills, we also find between the “pleasant to have” experience with shooters and multiplayer games. While among the qualifications we read that it is necessary to have experience in multiple platforms.
The same experience with multiplayer titles with a narrative component and / or shooters is also found in the possible CV of a new Gameplay Designer that CD Projekt is looking specifically for Cyberpunk 2077. All this, therefore, gives us hope that, while the Polish development team still try to find out when Cyberpunk 2077 will return to the Sony Online Store, all the wheels are turning to carry out a project related to this title.
However, going back to Kicinski’s statement about the desire to insert elements online in all games, it is clear how the work in Cyberpunk 2077 will also serve to understand, for example, how add online and multiplayer items Also to The Witcher series, which is about to debut, among other things, on mobile devices with Thronebreaker (for which pre-registration is also open in the Android Play Store).
