The nations of the world are investigating whether life is possible in a world beyond earth. Space researchers are exploring the possibility of growing the plant in space and conducting various experiments. Tacos, a Mexican dish made by NASA astronauts on the International Space Station, are gaining attention. These tacos have a specialty. The stuffing filling inside the tacos is made with chili peppers planted in space. The chili seedlings were planted four months ago. Chili peppers harvested in space were brought to Earth. NASA claims this is the first time such a harvest has been carried out in space.
Space researcher Megan McArthur tweeted images of chili peppers, chili plants and tacos. We cook with red and green chili peppers. With that I made tacos on the space station – Megan tweeted. The taco filling was made with tomatoes and chili peppers.
Friday party! After harvesting, we tasted the red and green chili. Then we complete surveys (I have to have the data! 😁). Finally, I made my best space tacos yet: beef fajita, rehydrated tomatoes and artichokes, and HATCH CHILE! https://t.co/pzvS5A6z5u pic.twitter.com/fJ8yLZuhZS

The first harvest of chili peppers took place on Saturday in space. NASA says this is one of its most challenging experiments. This is because germination time and growth time are longer compared to soil.

Most scientists on the space station eat packaged food. This forces them to eat low-quality, nutritious food. The team decided to grow chili peppers, as they can be harvested very quickly and are rich in vitamin C.
