Yesterday, the official English Sword Art Online Twitter account announced a special fan event called Sword Art Online Synthesis-Alicization Project Duration, A free event hosted within VRChat, featuring casts, show creators and more.The event runs from From midnight JST on December 26th to 11:59 pm JST on December 27th.

According to the official website, fans will be able to explore “unique exhibits” and watch live streams of “specials” in a VR environment. You can probably see it on the huge screen in the screenshot above. In these programs, casts such as anime and games and talks with creators are held.
Everything is also streamed on YouTube, but if you want, you can join directly in a PC VR compatible headset or join on your PC using the VRChat client in a mode other than VR. Obviously, checking out in VR gives you the most immersive and entertaining results.
There will also be a “special movie” called the Symphonic Alicization Orchestra Special Edition, which is a video of an animated clip edited with music. It was included on the bonus disc in the limited edition Blu-Ray release of SAO Alicization. There is also a War of Underworld Special Edition Orchestra video specially edited for this event.
