Date:

Taiwanese manufacturer BenQ has announced its first gaming monitor with an OLED panel. The EX480UZ comes with a diagonal of 48 inches, has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K) and promises a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, whether on PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

True 10-bit color depth is both up front and 0.1ms faster gray shift and DisplayHDR 400 True Black. In addition, a contrast ratio of 135,000:1, a DCI-P3 coverage of 98 percent and a typical brightness of 450 cd/m² are offered. VRR (“Variable Refresh Rate”) and FreeSync Premium guarantee uninterrupted gaming fun, which is why BenQ apparently didn’t opt for the Pro version, which could handle active HDR.

Two stereo speakers with 5 watts each and a 10 watt subwoofer are also part of the feature set, as are OSD options for black stabilization and motion blur. The range of interfaces on the 48-inch display includes two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4, one USB 3.2 hub, one headphone jack, and USB-C with DisplayPort Alternate Mode and 90-watt power supply. In terms of ergonomics, tilt, VESA mount (200 x 200mm), blue light filtering, and a mode for people with color blindness are available.

Of BenQ Mobiuz EX480UZ it should enter a pre-order phase from September or October 2022 and will cost 1,999 euros (RRP). A remote control is included in the scope of delivery. Although not mentioned on the product page, the German press release claims that even the KVM switch functionality is part of the kit.
