If the FritzBox asks for additional confirmation, you have three options:
- Entering a key combination on a connected phone
- By pressing a button on your FritzBox
- Enter a verification code using the authenticator app
The first two options only work on the home network, the authenticator app also works with remote access. You must set this method to “System” and “FritzBox Users”. Select the default default user and scroll down to the “Application Verification (One Time Password)” section. Click “Set New”.
The FritzBox also requests an additional confirmation for this action. So you have to be there to press a confirmation button on the router or to confirm via a connected phone. So you need an authenticator app, for example google authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator either autistic.
In the FritzBox interface, specify a name for the smartphone on which the authenticator app is running, and then scan the displayed QR code with it. Click “Next” and write the generated code. If FritzBox gets additional confirmation in the future, you can use the authenticator app’s one-time codes.
