According to the state-owned company: Russia is now the operator of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe – foreign policy

Date:

Putin’s bloody invasion of Ukraine has been going on for more than two weeks.

Now the head of the Kremlin claims Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia on the Dnieper River!

► According to the Ukrainian operator Energoatom, Russia has told the employees of the power plant, which was already occupied by Russian troops, that it now belongs to the Russian state-owned company Rosatom.

Russian troops seized the power plant on March 4. Since then, the reactor crew has been forced to continue operating it. A dangerous condition, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as workers in their high-risk profession would normally have to be replaced regularly to ensure company safety.

Worrying: Zaporizhia nuclear power plant has been damaged since the fighting.

When Russian troops attacked the site in early March, a fire broke out at the nuclear power plant. Since then, two of the five power cables feeding the power plant and one transformer have failed.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also reported on Wednesday that it had lost direct communication with the power plant in Ukraine.
