Once again, there are new features coming to Windows 11 this year. It’s the last round of features though, because Microsoft won’t be releasing any optional updates in December.
If you already have Windows 11 version 22H2, you can now install the optional update KB5020044 (OS Build 22621.900). With this, Microsoft is moving forward with integrating OneDrive into Windows 11. Anyone who uses the cloud storage service will receive more information in PC settings in the future.
In the future, OneDrive will show a warning in PC settings when storage space approaches a critical load. Storage management and the option to buy more storage are linked here. Also, if multiple OneDrive accounts are used on one device, you can now see the total available storage space for all OneDrive accounts.
The “Windows Spotlight” feature, which regularly rotates the Bing background images on the desktop, also takes a more prominent place with this update and can now also be found in the “Themes” section of the personalization section of Windows settings. the PC. So far, it’s just an option when choosing the background image and seems to be easily overlooked.
As always, the full changelog for this update is available at Microsoft.
An important bug fix for gamers is also included, because the issue that can cause performance to drop in certain games has been resolved. You can read more about this error here: Deterioration of gaming performance on Windows 11 22H2: update lock loosened, still little information
As always, those who do not install this optional update will receive the changes it contains with the Patchday update on December 13, 2022.
